Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a cooperative story telling game. The GM will explain a scene or situation to the players, who then tell the GM what their character would like to do. Dice are rolled to see how well the character is able to perform the action the player has stated, and the GM describes the consequences. This continues through the stories, evolving them over time and allowing the players to control the direction of the story.
